Alan Stones was born in Manchester in 1947. From 1967-1971 he studied Fine Art at St Martin's School of Art, London, then became self-employed as an artist living in Thetford, Norfolk until 1982, then in Blencarn, near Penrith, Cumbria
Since August 2000 there has been a large, permanent but changing exhibition of Alan's paintings, drawings and prints at Rheged Discovery Centre, Penrith, Cumbria (junction 40, M6 motorway). Alan also has an open studio every Wednesday afternoon at Blencarn (10 miles east of Penrith). |
