George Cannon studied at the Polytechnic, Regent Street, London under Norman Blamey R.A and J.P. Millard. Whilst a student, he was awarded the Bronze Medal for painting. He became a member of the Lake Artists Society in 1962. Exhibitions include the New Art Centre, London; RBA Gallery, London; Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool; Abbot Hall, Kendal; Theatre in the Forest, Grizedale; St Martins College, Lancaster; Castlegate Gallery, Cockermouth.
