Helen Turner was born and educated in Scotland, studying for four years at Edinburgh College of Art (1967-1971). Following some years as a teacher of art and many more as a parent she has focuses on her own work as a painter, living and working in Kendal, Cumbria. She works mainly in watercolour but also in oil and her paintings have been exhibited in Scotland, Yorkshire, Suffolk, Worcestershire, London and Cumbria.
