Led by award-winning artist Catherine MacDiarmid, you’ll be guided step by step from initial drawing through to building up your painting in simple layers. Along the way, you’ll pick up useful tips and techniques to help you develop a more confident, expressive, and fresh approach to painting figures in watercolour.

I will be coming round throughout the day to help in any way I can. Spend the day exploring and painting the evocative interior spaces at Allan Bank – looking through windows and doorways onto the wonderful gardens .  Following a short presentation with inspiration from some of the greatest painters of interiors – from the ‘intimiste’ painters Vuillard and Bonnard to modern masters such as Andrew Wyeth,  you will have the opportunity to work at your own pace with one to one guidance from Ceri You may bring along your preferred painting or drawing media and we will cover aspects of depicting space, composition, colour mixing , light and shadows.

Learn how to produce a simple Linocut using a range of colorways and on different surfaces. Led by experienced local printmaker Angie Mitchell, you will be guided step by step through the printmaking process and learn how to print your design without the use of a press. No experience necessary and an opportunity to develop skills for those with some experience.
