Mark Gibbs

Mark explores our connection to animals, landscapes and history.  He creates intricate horses from recycled wire or ceramics, and birds crafted feather by feather from newspaper or even banknotes.

His paintings depict mysterious forests. Remembrance and the fragility of life are recurring themes.

Mark has exhibited widely across the UK and internationally. In 2022, he was elected an Associate of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists.

He has been selected for several New Light Prize Exhibitions, a leading showcase for artists from the North of England, and he won the 2016 Cumbrian Open and 2020 RBSA Open Prizes.
