Richard Foster

Richard trained as an art historian and began his career working in museums and country houses, as well as continuing to pursue his printmaking.

British printmakers of the early 20th century, including Laura Knight, Ralph Middleton Todd and Edgar Holloway informed some of Richards practice and continue to do so today.

Richard’s later career has been in arts management and he has had the luxury of being able to access print rooms and studios in some of the organisations for whom he has worked.

Today Richard works from a home studio and the Iron Press, Lancaster and Linden Print Studio, Carlisle.
